I second this.

Gaming@beehaw.org•RUMOR: 'The Future of Xbox is Software Publishing' as Next Console Generation Faces Doubts
6·2 months agoDisagree with everything you said. The future is not dumb streaming boxes. And game passes are a terrible model. NOBODY is excited about streaming a video game abs playing with shitty latency and compression.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Use work laptop as personal device by dual booting on a separate internal drive?
11·2 years agoI’ve seen many people fired for doing less on a work laptop. Do not modify the physical machine. I’m surprised they don’t have USB locked off already. I’d get a personal machine.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•What I want to become Vs What I do
21·2 years agoI personally disagree. Took 3 years of Electrical Engineering courses in college but finished with a B.S in Computer Science. Both are valid engineering disciplines, the only thing lacking on the computer side are standardized licensing tests and an oversight body. Software engineers have to build software that can affect life and death too, but somehow we don’t have as much regulation in the US which is super odd to me.
FYI, you can run homeassistant on a raspberry pi or even cheaper hardware, or on an existing or old machine.
Nobara works in that regard as well. It’s based on Fedora.
I understand what you mean now. You have to wait for the software developer to update the tool you use for compatibility with Wayland. Will it run under xwayland?
I’m on Wayland, KDE plasma with Fedora 39. I take screenshots all the time.
I switched to chrome for a few years but went back to Firefox about 3 years ago. Google can piss off as far as I’m concerned.
Call OSHA too cause they might want to expand into household hazard rules 😆

You are wrong. I develop software and have a MacBook. Windows does not compare when you need an environment close to Linux.
