How about you just don’t make this kind of analogy in the year 2024?

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•A round of applause for Mike Drucker.

Yep. We have a black and white Brother laser printer, and it’s lasted* for at least five years now. Toner is so much cheaper than those stupid, tiny cartridges with not-enough-cyan.
Fiber and water. Find yourself a nice, vegetable soup recipe.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Has google stopped working for finding anything?
2·2 years agoIt just occurred to me that this ability to communicate with a search engine, that everyone used to call Google-fu, was exactly this! It didn’t already know (or think it knew) what you were getting at, and it’s took some practice to figure out how to finesse the results.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•How would you feel if Beehaw left the Fediverse?
72·2 years agoI think you have to do what’s best for your people. You have a very particular set of goals with Beehaw, and if the fediverse isn’t the right place for that then it’s fine to move on. I’ll be curious to see what you all decide to do, and, if you do leave, what you end up creating!
Lucky! Mine’s gone, and I honestly can’t remember if I deleted it
I see you have never built a chicken coop.
No, but seriously, as a parent who regularly gets texts and emails of crap that my kids want, teaching them to prune their links is next on my to-do list! It’s annoying AF, but right now we’re focused on the power of the “enter” button to add spaces between items on a list.
Okay, what have you tried so far to try to fix your situation? People can give you more specific advice if they know what you’ve already tried.
Seriously, that’s a 20-25 minute walk. Perfect, natural exercise opportunity completely wasted!

Memes@lemmy.ml•When the person you always knew was going to become a life coach achieves their final form
2·2 years agoYeah, I was exceptionally lazy this morning.
I am not the bro you’re speaking to, but I am a parent. Dinner is sometimes at 5:15 and other days it’s at 6:45. It just depends on everyone’s schedules. So don’t assume that a random bro on the internet knows when dinner is.

I wanted to be her, actually.

Orange. Pure orange, yellow orange, neon, burnt. Not so much red-orange, but I do love oranges that have a bit of a pink sheen, like padparadscha sapphires.
