movies@piefed.social•Hackers (1995) is a film I somehow never saw until now—wild, considering I lived through the real events it riffs on

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why aren't there mass protests in the USA?
1·9 months agoI don’t live in the usa. But I’ve protested for a lot less…

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Why aren't there mass protests in the USA?
285·9 months agoI guess I’m just shocked that they only waved signs. In France, the guillotine would have been out. Here in Canada we entirely shut down our capital for months, and both for way less. When will the real protests start?
Hope you’re okay buddy. I know nothing an internet stranger can say will help, but if you need someone to talk to, let me know.
So 1. This is newable. Green, almost waste free, and unlimited.
If we can refine fusion, we will stop global warming and energy insecurity, virtually overnight.
It’s not a waste to invest in clean tech R&D. At one point, people said the same thing about solar, and look where we are now

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which is the best part of winter: the sun setting at 5pm every day, or it literally hurting when you go outside?
1·2 years agoOther than super dry skin, taking 3x the time to leave the house and white knuckle driving every day?
My honest favourite part of winter is 4 fold:
- Christmas season. There’s an overwhelming positive energy in the air. Family, drinks, friends and good food.
- Every thing is quiet, fresh and sterile. It looks amazing after a fresh snow.
- It’s hockey season.
- No yard work. Fuck leaves (and leafs)
Two books. How to win friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie, and for whom the bell tolls by Ernest Hemingway

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some good/useful software that you use that aren't well known/talked about?
10·2 years agoI mean, your question wasn’t about pirating. It asked for free good software.
Just go pirate everything and don’t waste my time replying to you…
Doesn’t need to be a good free software if you’re just going to pirate it.
Why post the question in the first place?

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What are some good/useful software that you use that aren't well known/talked about?
21·2 years agoDaVinci resolve is an extremely powerful video editing software, and the non professional version is free. It feels like an extremely expensive program, powerful, quick and really well designed.
Was there other information in there like your name, address, SIN, etc?
As others have said, not a big deal.
HR would probably not understand your concern, and most likely no action will ever be taken from it.
At least you got a raise tho! Congrats on that
The way it retrieves. How the lure spins, the depth at which it stays. If its a cheap lure, it won’t attract fish
Fishing lures. Off brand ones don’t have the same action. Some of them work, but most knock off meps don’t
I picked up food poisoning eating beef tartar in a third world country. Came back home, couldn’t eat anything for 3 days.
On day number four, I broke my fast with a mozza burger from A&W.
I’m sure it was the lack of any taste for the previous 4 days, but that was the very best thing I’ve ever ate. Such vivid and pronounced flavours.
It was unforgettable.
Children of time is a fantastic book about intelligent spiders. One of the best sci-fi I’ve read

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Is there a collection of all human knowledge ever created ?
1111·2 years agoWikipedia is a great start. You can download its entirety, roughly 100gb. Most of the basic and advanced human knowledge.
Check out kiwix to get it offline
