Ah so you’re fighting liberals by writing unhinged stuff on internet. Good job. Think about it the next time no one takes you seriously.

Why do people on Lemmy always find a way to make everything about liberals? That’s what I’m getting tired of. Whenever something happens, people come up saying “well yeah, liberals suck”. How is that better than the thing you’re arguing against? If you’re tired of “satisfaction with hypocrisy” of one group, what is your prefered group doing? Is there someone actually doing something about it? Because I only see people writing stuff on internet forums, regardless of their affiliation.

Oh I know SAP products pretty well. I’m asking because the original post was writing about “crying about antifa” and mentioning SAP at the same time.

I might be out of the loop, but SAP? What did they do?

We have a major political party which is liberal, progressive and socialist. We also have a major political party which is liberal, progressive and capitalist. We also have a semi-major political party which is liberal, conservative and capitalist. And we also have major socalist conservative authoritarian party. No bending out of shape was necessary.

Mooom call the cops. Enlightened communist (or whatever you think you are) think everyone is enemy and then they’re surprised when someone doesn’t agree with them.

Honestly I don’t care for kids memes from the internet about a compass. Just because there are kids creating memes, it doesn’t make it incorrect. What is more illiterate is conflating things that don’t have anything in common just because “that’s how it always is” just because that’s how it works in your country.
Also there’s actually a third very popular axis that tends to be conflated with the rest based on random thoughts, and that’s progresivism vs conservativism. People also like to say stuff like “all liberals are automatically progressive” (and vice versa) in the same way as the original post did.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to imply here. Are you saying that it’s not correct? Care to explain why?

Ah right, liberals, the bane of everyone’s existence. Nazis are already blaming liberals for everything, so it was just a matter of time until anarchists (or whatever OP likes to be) start doing the same.

Liberalism has nothing to do with corporations. These are two totally independents axis. One one you have liberalism and authoritarianism On the other you have socialism and capitalism. You can have liberal socialist and you can have liberal capitalist. People love to conflate these things based on the popular parties in their country. But just because there are opposing parties with some specific economic/social viewpoint combination in one country, it doesn’t mean that they make a template how it works.
I agree. I just don’t like the attitude where internet is already declaring “victory” when so far not much has been done.
I understand that people got angry (partially because of “Canada + Europe vs USA” stuff; partially because people are already pissed at Big Tech). I also understand that inside of niche communities people are trying to do something and are getting hyped.
The problem is when people start extrapolating the view of “their” community to the whole world. “Everyone is ditching big tech! I read about that every day! (In a community populated by likeminded people)”. And suddenly there are “victorious” headlines and people get complacent. “Yeah Big Tech, you lost… That’s what you get for messing with us”.
I might be preaching to the choir, but we shouldn’t get complacent this time.
I wouldn’t say they lost. Not by a long shot. I understand the sentiment of “let’s get rid of them! Now’s the best time to do that”. But there’s still A LOT to do to make that happen.
But obviously - let’s contribute to that as much as possible.

Matrix is pretty much that already.

I had few issues recently, with connection to various game servers where the connection did not work until I did a reboot of the xbox. Whether that’s an xbox problem, that I’m not sure.

Honestly it didn’t even occur to me that this could be a problem somewhere in this day and age. I don’t even remember when was the last time my bank sent me an SMS for MFA, but it’s a good point for people in US.

I’m not an expert in this field, so other people might have something else to add, but my takeaway is mostly - do not rely on phone services. Don’t use MFA via SMS, etc. Most of the issues described, you can avoid if you’re careful, except the geolocation issue.
