This seems like some kind of thing some company would try so they could have a trademarkable word for memes.

3·9 months agoIs that up to them though? Aren’t browsers on iPhones only allowed to be wrappers around the built in safari engine? If that’s still true extensions that interact with the web page it’s self would probably be pretty limited.

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•It's a Unix system! Elon knows this!
17·11 months ago127.0.0.1 is a special IP address that loops back to the device itself.
For local area networks there are 3 groups of private IPv4 address spaces
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255 172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255 10.0.0.0 - 10.255.255.255
Basically you can use any address range in any of those 3 ranges, ones in the 192.168.x.y block have been pretty common for home routers for a while.
Normally you can change the address ranges set in the router if there’s a particular range you want to use.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Would you ever have the nerve to do THIS?
7·1 year agoI keep reading that not as the venue doesn’t have enough space for everyone, but as the venue has banned certain people. I’m really hoping I’m wrong and it is a space issue.

For live TV, perhaps they should change its name to subscription because that’s basically what it is at the end of the day.
Ah thanks I think that clears it up for me.
It was serious, in my head both were just terms for left wing further left than central left but not like extremist left wing.
Aren’t liberals leftists though?
Given Awdry was quite keen on accuracy to the real world engines (see the falling out with one of the first artists) I’m actually surprised there isn’t more consistency with the liveries. The Culdee Fell Railway has all engines with the same purple livery, and I think from memory the steam trains on the Skarloey Railway are red, which is more accurate to real life as generally each railway would have its own livery.
I think earlier on when there were fewer engines it was less of a problem as they all had fairly distinct shapes being based on different real engine classes Garden and pre rebuild Henry probably being the least distinct.
You were supposed to bring order to the railway not cause confusion and delay
Probably basically commercial displays but I wonder if it’s possible to buy TVs aimed for guest rooms in hotels?

Would be a nice thing to have in the spec for the cable, as those ones aren’t compliant with the spec, and can in some cases cause problems, like on disconnect it might be possible for one of the PD pins to short against one of the data pins before the side delivering power has had time to process the disconnect.
It’s a pretty specific edge case and I’m sure not a problem most people have had or will run into, but would be nice if it could be part of the spec.

So from my experience of these type of systems (mostly in the context of banking services) they normally want to use your devices camera to take the picture directly, and normally also want a photo of a photographic ID to compare against.
