Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is there a series showing how we got rocks to think?
3·1 year agohttps://youtu.be/FU_YFpfDqqA?si=NRQYXa6nk_NTn7vf
I believe it was this video by Veritasium that I was thinking of that explains how we got switches to think. Modern computers use the same principles. Just instead of physical switches, they use semiconductor switches. Which is were the rocks come into play. Semiconductors, in supper brief nut shell, are on the verge of conducting and need a little nudge of voltage to start conducting. Hence the semi part.

Worse than that. Major public opinion was against the rail strikes because they didn’t want to pay more at the supper market. Americans are just capitalist zombies doing whatever their corporate overlords tell them to do.
Web DRM could in theory ban this
So this isn’t far from what you should do if you’re uninsured. Ask for an itemized bill. Refuse to pay their initial offer. Suddenly the hospital will be quick to lower your bill and work out a fair payment plan. Hospitals hate collections as much as you do
Edit:
Oh, forgot to mention, this is what insurance does. You’re just acting the same

Being pedantic. Wayland is a replacement not a successor. It’s for those X does it, why not Wayland, situations.
