LUKS encrypts the whole drive, native FS encryption can encrypt it partially (e.g. just the home partition). Additionally, decrypting without a keyboard is a pain or impossible (e.g. touch screen only devices).

Well, I can simply open an app by tapping it on the home screen on Android. What do I need to do on Gnome?

KDE Connect works on Wayland and can do all of that. Should definitely be technically possible.


Lots of good games are still not working properly (e.g. Nioh), also modding support is very lacking and cumbersome.
