Unions are absolutely why we have 40 hour work weeks I wasn’t saying otherwise. Just that because of how our day works 8 hours of work was what people fought for. If we had days that were 48 hours things could be different and people could have fought for 10 hours days. Of course this is all hypothetical and we have no idea what people actually would have fought for.

The point isn’t about how our work week works though, it’s about how dumb it is to assume that other planets wouldn’t have possibly longer work weeks.

Welllll the 40 hr work week is based off our 24 hour days and some planets have much longer than 24 hours in their day. So realistically some planets could have 60 hr work weeks. Plus we have no idea the governmental structure and ideology of other worlds and if they even allow you to stop working at all/you’re worked to death or if they have such an advanced society that you don’t even really have to work much at all.

Basically, this is kinda dumb.

In Highschool I took health and it was the diagrams of the different junk, pictures and videos about STDs, saying most birth control doesn’t actually work very well (e.g. Condoms have a 36% success rates at prevent STDs or pregnancy) so it’s best to sign a card swearing you’ll be abstinent until marriage. Only one person signed the card since we were, thankfully, given a choice. No talking about being gay, since it’s a red state. They spent more time on a bunch of different drugs than sex.

Before high school there wasn’t really “sex” ed, just showing videos about puberty and ways to check for cancer/lumps. But I went to a Catholic school before highschool. There also might have been stuff about how Masturbation is bad in the Catholics “sex ed”.

If anyone wants to know what subreddit, it’s r/changemyview. I remember seeing a ton of similar posts about controversial opinions and even now people are questioning Am I Overreacting and AITAH a lot. AI posts in those kind of subs are seemingly pretty frequent. I’m not surprised to see it was part of a fucking experiment.

A lot of my memory is based on Music. So if I hear a song I get all of my memories of both the things that have happened in my life while that song was playing, and where I first heard the song (if I heard the song in a movie or show I can say/picture what was happening in that when the song was playing as well). To the point where many have said it’s a photographic memory based in song. Importantly, if there wasn’t music playing then I only remember the rough details instead of pinpoint details when there is music.

Now if only it worked for studying, then I would have been able to listen to music while studying and remember all the shit I was supposed to instead of being terrible at tests.

I was a library “aide” in for a year and a half about a decade ago. We were the ones who shelved books. Who cleaned the section, who had to answer some questions of people around the floor. We also, and this was the majority of the job, had to go through the DVDs and CDs and books to make sure they were in good condition. And make sure there were no bed bugs in them. We found loads of bed bugs. So many. It sucked.

We also had to just do whatever we were told so we had to do jobs of higher paid workers some times because they weren’t able to schedule someone for the couple hours of time we had to fill. We also got paid 10 cents above minimum wage to “be competitive” and were limited to 30 hours.

We also had higher ups saying “well 30 hours and not paid a lot is fine because this job is meant for super young people in or just out of highschool or while in college. It’s not meant to let you make a living.” But almost every single one of us aides were between 20 and 35 with multiple in their 40s and were not in school and many were living with their parents because our job wasn’t paying us enough to survive by ourselves.

They also had this “hey maybe if you stay here long enough in this job that doesn’t pay enough and won’t provide insurance, we’ll hire you for a higher paying job. Maybe.” Only a handful of aides in the entire library system got hired on for a higher paying job during my time there. This was a system that had like 15 branches. They gotta simultaneously dangle the carrot of higher paying job after years of being there while also saying that the job you have isn’t meant to be something you stay in for very long and isn’t meant for non people in highschool.

In short, if you’re the lowest rung employee in a big system, it sucks ass.

Exactly. Which is why framing this as layoffs is incredibly disingenuous. And it seems most games media is framing it as such despite it simply being a pre-production decision.

Here’s a question. Is it better for the industry to have studios layoff employees when they finish a project and their other project is in Pre-Production which only requires a small team? Or is it better to assign the people who aren’t needed yet, since the Pre-production team is small, to help other teams in a larger parent company? I’d argue the second option is far better. And the second option is what’s happening here.

They’re not saying it but I think it’s likely this is because of all the big games coming out in February. Civ 7, Avowed, and Monster Hunter Wilds are the three big ones and those take up a lot of time. Shadows would get lost in the weeds. Meanwhile there isn’t really a big game coming out in March. So perfect time.

Yeah sorta. I write the review as I go. Whenever a thing jumps out at me or I have moments where I’m focusing on a specific thing frequently, I’ll write about a paragraph about it and then move on. Sometimes a long one, sometimes a short one. Once I’m finished with the game, I go back through and edit and restructure and get rid of some things that ended up not being important or change some of my thoughts based on how the game develops. Sometimes, early on, something jumps out at me and I write something about it, and then later on that thing gets fixed and I just get rid of the whole paragraph.

I’m an independent games reviewer, so 1. But even before I did that, I still could only play 1 at a time.

There actually was a second season with an actual ending but it definitely deserved more.

Breaking News: RPG does what all RPGs do but we will compare it to only what one well know RPG does instead of simply saying it’s an RPG that does RPG things.

They could have said any other recent RPG game and it would have applied. Using Baldurs Gate 3 is probably just because Avowed is in the Pillars of Eternity world which was another isometric game, but still it’s just an RPG. It could just be channeling Pillars of Eternity instead of Baldurs Gate 3. Why do we have to use Baldurs Gate 3 for every comparison out there?

Because they’re desperate to recoup some of their money for development and the game hasn’t sold very well. Case in point: Suicide Squad is 3.49 or 4.99 for the deluxe edition. The game sold like trash so they desperately want to make some more money and hope people will go like “well it’s only 5 bucks. I may as well.”

People need to stop supporting Nintendo at all. They’re lawsuit happy assholes who have been doing everything they can to piss away any good will they might have had. They’re the only game company out there who refuses to make enough of many of their products, like their mini NES and SNES, to meet demand because then its “exclusive”, they are the only company trying to destroy all type of emulation for Nintendo consoles, and they’re the only company who seems to actually want their older games to disappear into the ether. Edit: Oh and they fucking refuse to put their games on sale or lower their prices years afterwards. BoTW is still 60 bucks even though it’s 7 and a half years old. Fucking insane.

“Aqun-athlok” means one who was born one gender and is now living as another. So yeah that means trans. But there’s also a conversation in the trans community about if Non-Binary is technically trans. I would argue it is but some disagree and others say that while Non-binary is trans it is not a “normal” type of trans. That Non-Binary is not either gender. Sometimes Non-Binary is literally no gender. Non-Binary is it’s own umbrella term. So it’s not necessarily living as “another” gender, it can be living in between genders, without gender, or as both genders.

So i would say that “Aqun-athlok” is probably more applicable as binary trans as it was used to refer to krem who was a trans man. Now they could have just thought up a new word for Non-binary trans but Non-Binary is just kinda the perfect word for it. I’m Non-Binary and I actually think saying this is immersion breaking is just kinda bs. Plenty of words in our world also exist in Dragon Age. Not everything has to have a different word. For instance, Dwarves are a thing in our world. Sure they’re not the same, it’s a medical term, but they still exist. But the Dwarves in Dragon Age are still called Dwarves. Why are they not a different name? It’s a fantasy world, shouldn’t they have made up a new word instead of using a word from our world to describe these people? No, because Dwarves is just the word that fits best. Non-Binary here is the same.

Now whether or not it is written well is a better approach to this discussion but also, every trans person has experienced the exact thing that this writer describes, except it’s not always pushups. I’ve had people feel incredibly guilty over misgendering me and done some stupid stuff. When I hear this being described I don’t think it’s awkwardly written, I think it’s an accurate representation of what it can be like being trans and how some people will just be like that when they misgender you.

I also think calling it “preachy” is 100% playing into the narrative it’s Woke because people don’t call CoD preachy even though it’s filled with pro military propaganda. Why is this preachy just because it accurately shows an experience that trans people have all experienced in our own lives?

I haven’t gotten to this place yet in the game and I might end up finding it awkward, but I more likely expect to actually relate to Taash more because of it.

Anyway, just my thoughts from a trans dragon age fan.

If we do some quick math since Concord only sold 25,000 units, that means this has only sold 18,000 units. Completely unsurprisingly since it was a remake of a game that no one asked for and also seems to have removed a core part of the experience with changing the camera.

I’ve started blogging about videogames. So I’m just enjoying writing about stuff and looking forward to my posts on Wednesdays. No one reads it but it’s nice to write my thoughts down about games that I play.
