4·2 years agoI use Mullvad and it has categories of blocking - ads, trackers, malware, social media, porn, and gambling - but no custom blocking as far as I know. If you want to look at their blocklists https://github.com/mullvad/dns-blocklists#custom-dns-entries

Privacy Guides@lemmy.one•Why is skytube not recommended as much as newipe?English
9·2 years agoFrom the site https://newpipe.net/FAQ/download/
============================
Does NewPipe use the YouTube API?
No. NewPipe does not rely on the YouTube API, as using it requires an API key bringing with it specific regulations and restrictions. YouTube would then have more options of tracking your YouTube usage at their disposal. Therefore, NewPipe Extractor gets the information by parsing YouTube websites.

If someone believes in any one of the following:
- The supernatural
- A flat Earth
- Is an anti-vaxxer
- Drinks bleach
- Is afraid of condensation from airplanes
It is my not so humble opinion that person is an idiot.
Bonus points for using “like” in every sentence.
Edit: A very stupid spelling mistake.

Once upon a time SimpleX was spammed all over Reddit. This went on for months. I just can’t trust a developer that would do such a thing and I’ll never use this.
