Because I go on Lemmy for the news and for uplifting discussion. Many of my beliefs, such as kindness, compassion, and personal growth do not cause a stir here. However if I discuss some of my other beliefs, I will generally be down voted because the overwhelming majority of users here disagree with me. My goal when using Lemmy is to have constructive conversation, not contention. I want everyone to feel welcome, and in return, I want to feel welcome myself. While I would probably be ok getting deliveries from someone who’s name or photo doesn’t match, there is zero chance I’ll get in a car with a driver who doesn’t match their name and photo in the rideshare app.

The headline is a bit sensational. The bug only manifests in rare conditions, like large file writes, and the error state resolves on reboot. Additionally, it only affects some models of drives. Still. Good to be made aware of. Thanks for sharing!

Contrary to what the headline implies, Crumbs didn’t die from the weight loss program, rather from tumors which weren’t detected in time due to the excess weight. Rest in peace Crumbs! 🐱
