2·15 days agoYou gonna self host something that can eat a terrabyte per second ddos like its nothing?
I used librewolf and waterfox as well for a bit, until I noticed that were lagging behind on updates.
Now I just run vanilla Firefox auth arkenfox.js user prefs. Disables everything you’d want out of the box

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Flock Cameras are PUBLIC DOMAIN in Washington state. You can file a FOIA for your Flock data. Now police say that citizens getting public docs are now a "privacy concern".

21·27 days agoLol, I’m pretty deep into meshtastic but there is no chance that LoRa could be the backbone of a new internet. Bandwidth is far too low

28·29 days agoOur international teams kept enabling sourcemaps and I just had devops lock the directory to vpn access only 🤷
I know sourcemaps aren’t the end of the world as it’s all client side code that lives on the clients computer but it just feels dirty
Yeah no im with the above user on this one. I have used kagi for over a year now and have never needed to use another search engine to find something

Privacy@lemmy.ml•What is the safest repository to an install application from on Android? GitHub or Fdroid?
1·1 month agoI think accrescent’s security model is probably the best.
I use obtainium for when I want to ensure I get updates as fast as possible
Fdroid for the rest that I don’t want to have to manually update in obtainium

Android@lemmy.world•Cellebrite leak highlights how much more secure Pixel phones are with GrapheneOSEnglish
4·1 month agoThey do though. Here’s a couple off of the top of my head:
- Granular permissions
- enhanced sandboxing
- hardware memory tagging and other memory corruption related explotation attempts
- lockscreen pin scrambling
- and I’m pretty sure graphene was the first to have the auto reboot feature to trigger BFU

2·1 month agoWhat do you mean here? If a digital forensics team, police etc gets their hands on your phone while it’s unlocked there really is nothing that can be done, unless you have some sort of killswitch attached to the USB port lol
Depends on your threat model to be honest. Android (grapheneOS) has significantly more security measures than a Linux phone. Android was designed with mobile security threats in mind from the ground up
